Champions League soccer: Manchester City returns to beat Real Madrid

Manchester City trailed Real Madrid 1-0 after about 80 minutes before raging back to beat the La Liga power in a Champions League round of 16 matchup.

Gabriel Jesus and Kevin de Bruyne each scored objectives in the last 12 minutes of the primary leg conflict Wednesday at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in Madrid.

"Today we are happy but it's as yet not finished," City director Pep Guardiola told ManCity.com. "For our kin ideally we can do a decent presentation.

"This club has just been to elimination round. To succeed at the Bernabeu is splendid and we trust it will help us later on to put stock in ourselves."

Madrid attracted first blood the 60th moment after some messy play from the Sky Blues protection. The Sky Blues were passing the ball on their half of the field when Luka Modric jabbed the ball free. The ball returned toward the Sky Blues objective, where Madrid striker Vinicius Junior took it from the last line of protection. The Brazilian forward then passed the ball on his right side, discovering Isco. The Madrid star at that point sent a sliding shot into the net for a 1-0 edge.

Jesus scored an equalizer around 18 minutes after the fact. Raheem Sterling followed a long go into the container toward the beginning of that play. Sterling at that point spilled away from the objective before going to de Bruyne. The Sky Blues star took a few contacts before being encompassed by Madrid protectors. De Bruyne completed the play by chipping a cross toward the close to post. Jesus out-bounced Madrid safeguard Sergio Ramos and headed a shot into the close post netting.

De Bruyne gave the Sky Blues the thumbs up score five minutes after the fact. Sterling spilled into the left half of the Madrid box toward the beginning of that arrangement. He was then taken out by Madrid directly back Dani Carvajal, conceding the Sky Blues an extra shot. De Bruyne shot the shot into the left half of the net, as Madrid attendant Thibaut Courtois pigeon to the opposite side.
